Stephen Banhegyi’s EPIC ADVISERS model is an African leadership framework based on self-attribution and self-perception. Most of the models used to teach leadership principles have been developed by Western consultants and professors. According to Banhegyi, effective leadership requires an understanding of and the exercise of certain characteristics of the person in the leadership role. The model suggests that the creation of myth, meaning and reality through ‘storytelling’ is one of the key skills of leadership.
